Dietitian on the Move is a nutrition consulting business owned and operated by Registered Dietitian Lindsay Van der Meer specializing in sports nutrition and plant-based eating.
Lindsay has been a Registered Dietiitan for more than 13 years. During this time she has had a dynamic career working in a variety of clinical and leadership roles within the public health care system in Northern BC.
Alongside her professional career, Lindsay is passionate about physical fitness and has had a lifelong involvement in sport. Lindsay grew up figure skating competitively and as an adult has a strong presence in community sports both as an individual athlete and on sports teams, including running, cross-country skiing, cycling, swimming, multisport, and ultimate. Lindsay stays current in the latest sports nutrition research and applies what she learns in her own kitchen and during training and competition.
Lindsay is skilled at balancing sports nutrition recommendations with the importance of maintaining a healthy relationship with food. She is motivated to work with athletes and active people to help them reach their potential.
What is a Dietiitan?
A Registered Dietitian is a nutrition professional who specializes in food, nutrition, and the important role that it plays in maintaining health and preventing and managing disease. The titles Dieitian and Registered Dietitian (or RD for short) are protected and regulated designations. It is a protected title similar to physician, nurse or pharmacist. An individual must unergo specific training to use these titles.
